I graduated Cum Laude from Boston University with a degree in finance, and now I work as a Finance Associate at State Street! I work closely with portfolio managers to make sure we resolve overdraft balances quickly, repair any failing trades, and ensure that we have shares available when selling large amounts of stock.
Outside of work, I tutor students in math, SAT prep, and finance courses. I discovered I loved teaching when I became a Teaching Assistant at Boston University in my sophomore year. I had been a tutor before in high school, but my experience as a TA inspired me to start my own tutoring service, Carter Tutoring.
Throughout my life, I’ve been the one that would give friends and family financial advice. I’d get asked things like which credit card they should get next or how they could get started investing. I realized in college that my finance courses were expanding my skills even further, and that I could offer valuable financial advice for many different situations.
I started as a financial coach by working with my friends from college, and have now expanded further by running my own blog and financial coaching service called Guide Your Money!
Tutoring and financial coaching have allowed me to use my skills and passions to have a tangible positive impact on people’s lives, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of the support and guidance I got along the way.
